What items do you accept for reuse and recycling?

Answer

We can accept all of your old, worn or damaged clothing items — think jeans, t-shirts, socks and pairs of shoes! We can even accept old sheets, towels, fabric off-cuts and textiles!
The only requirement is that items are clean, so we recommend popping everything through a quick wash before packaging it for collection.

Why does it cost $25?

Answer

Freight/Pick Up = $22.03 (avg in Australia) + Recycling $2 per kg = $20 = Total: $42.02 for one box. (+ other expenses including storing, sorting, separating and distributing fit-for-wear items to charities and recycling the remaining items!)

Are there any items I CAN'T send?

Answer

We cannot accept unwashed items for reuse or recycling, so please ensure all items are clean and dried before sending! Shoes must be in pairs — please don’t send single shoes.
We also cannot accept bras and underwear at the moment, so please don’t send them.

Question 4

How many items can I send?

Answer

When you book your collection you are provided an allowance of up to 10kg. Your items must be packaged into a box or satchel sized no larger than carry-on luggage — 56cm x 36cm x 23cm.

Question 5

How do I work out what 10kg is?

Answer

If you don’t have scales then we encourage you to do your best approximate guess when packing items! And if it helps — we’ve worked out that 10kg is equal to 65 t-shirts.

Question 6

How should I package my items?

Answer

Your items can be packaged into anything. Think inside the box — a wine box, food delivery box or grocery box would work! You can also put your items into a securely sealed and durable bag, package or satchel. Ensure it weighs approx. 10kg and is approx. the size of carry-on luggage (56cm x 36cm x 23cm). Please note: Couriers cannot collect items that are unsealed or open. You will need to ensure that your box, bag or package is secure and completely sealed so that it can be transported safely and easily.

Do I need a printer to participate?

Answer

Yes — you will need access to a printer so that you can print off the label we email you to stick to your box or package! If you do not have a printer at home then you can print from an Offiiceworks. Find your local Officeworks here.

Do you collect from all areas in Australia?

Answer

We sure do! Our team of couriers are at the ready — including our own couriers along with our partners Sendle (Australia’s first 100% carbon neutral delivery service), Australia Post and Pack & Send!

Question 9

How do I score my $25 credit?

Answer

You’ll receive this via email after you register your collection, and you can spend it on any Baroku product*. *Excluding tote bags. Cannot be used in conjunction with any other discount or offer. This credit will only be applied to your first collection.
