Baroku-UPPAREL-1200.jpg

By partnering with UPPAREL, we’re now offering you the chance to have 10kg of your old clothing, linen and shoes collected for only $25, and score it back in credit which is fully redeemable to spend on our store.*

*On your first collection only.

On average, Australians purchase 27kg of new textiles each year and then discard around 23kg into landfill — annually. To put that into perspective, that’s a massive 80% of your purchases for the year tossed into the trash. And of that number, around two-thirds are manmade synthetic/plastic fibres that may never breakdown.

Here's how you do it.

1. Register for a recycling collection

Book your collection. You can send us 10kg for just $25. We’ll send you a $25 voucher to redeem online with us.

2. Gather up your unwanted items

Gather up your unwanted clothing, linen and shoes. Ensure clothes and textiles have been given a clean, ready for someone else to use and love. Shoes should be in good condition and be given a quick wipe. No underwear and bra’s please!

3. Let us know when to pick it up

Pack your items ready for collection in a box or secure package no heavier than 10kg. Parcel must be completely sealed (open boxes and garbage bags cannot be collected). Login to your account and notify us when they are ready for pick-up.

4. We’ll organise the rest…

The team will book your collection within 48 hours of receiving your request and provide you with a label to attach to your package. A courier from our third-party network will then come to pick it up from your front door. Then we’ll get to recycling!

Why does it cost $25?

Freight/Pick Up = $22.03 (avg in Australia) + Recycling $2 per kg = $20 = Total: $42.02 for one box. (+ other expenses including storing, sorting, separating and distributing fit-for-wear items to charities and recycling the remaining items!)

Are there any items I CAN'T send?

We cannot accept unwashed items for reuse or recycling, so please ensure all items are clean and dried before sending! Shoes must be in pairs — please don’t send single shoes.
We also cannot accept bras and underwear at the moment, so please don’t send them.

How many items can I send?

When you book your collection you are provided an allowance of up to 10kg. Your items must be packaged into a box or satchel sized no larger than carry-on luggage — 56cm x 36cm x 23cm.

How do I work out what 10kg is?

If you don’t have scales then we encourage you to do your best approximate guess when packing items! And if it helps — we’ve worked out that 10kg is equal to 65 t-shirts.

How should I package my items?

To reduce waste and emissions we don’t send you anything to collect your items in. Your textiles can be packaged into ANY type of box (no larger than check-in luggage) — a food delivery box, grocery box or moving box would work! You can also pack your items into a durable bag or satchel. As a reference, the package should be approximately 46cm x 41cm x 42cm, however, it doesn’t have to be these dimensions exactly! Please note: The courier cannot collect garbage bags.

Do I need a printer to participate?

Yes — you will need access to a printer so that you can print off the label we email you to stick to your box or package! If you do not have a printer at home then you can print from an Offiiceworks. Find your local Officeworks here.

Do you collect from all areas in Australia?

We sure do! Our team of couriers are at the ready — including our own couriers along with our partners Sendle (Australia’s first 100% carbon neutral delivery service), Australia Post and Pack & Send!

How do I score my $25 credit?

You’ll receive this via email after you register your collection, and you can spend it on any Baroku product*. *Excluding tote bags. Cannot be used in conjunction with any other discount or offer. This credit will only be applied to your first collection.
