Going #Halfcut for the daintree
Hey, hope you're all staying well! With the number of issues we're exposed to at the moment it's really easy for things to be overlooked, and for a lot of us, there's so much to do that we do nothing. It's overwhelming at the best of times.
But through this noise, recently I discovered an awesome Not-for-profit organisation called HalfCut. They partake in programs to protect crucial forests for habitat for threatened and endangered species, protect Traditional Owners land titles, start mass tree planting projects and ultimately be part of the solution to the growing climate emergency, ensuring a safe future for all species on Earth.
We've lost half of our forests. HalfCut are on a mission to help save the remaining 50% of our forests.

Although some say our oceans are the lungs of our planet, the essential role of our trees in our world is indisputable - providing us with oxygen to breathe, habitats and food for animals, and ultimately cooling the climate... the list goes on. We need to be actively protecting and regenerating these ecosystems.
HalfCut also is running a challenge at the moment, inviting people to get creative and be the face of this environmental movement (quite literally). Shaving half of your beard, dyeing or braiding half of your hair... you get the point. The Co-founder of this great movement is James Stanton Cooke or 'Jimmy Halfcut', he's been rocking his half beard for over year... What a legend!
The project that HalfCut are currently raising to save LOT 155 in the worlds oldest intact rainforest, the Daintree. Thought to be around 180 million years old, the Daintree Rainforest is amongst the few biodiversity hotspots in Australia, and it's under threat from development. With the money raised, they'll purchase Lot 155 which will be managed by The Traditional Owners, the Kuku Yalanji as a Ranger Station.
Because of this, from now until the end of August we've partnered with HalfCut to help protect a square metre of Daintree Rainforest for every sale. If you're in need of a t-shirt why not also help save the world's oldest rainforest? Win-win.
If you know me personally you may have seen that I recently posted that I was personally getting involved too... My facial hair game is pretty seedy so I've decided to go radical and say see ya later to one of my eyebrows on the 31st of August (National HalfCut Day).
*All of the money raised from online purchases will be donated onto my own HalfCut fundraising page which you can see here.
